Custom SSL certificate with Charles Web Proxy

Installing the root certificate of Charles as a trusted certificate on your device however introduces security threats. An evil-minded person could simply use an SSL certificate signed with the root certificate of Charles to perform a man-in-the-middle attack on your device, since this certificate and its key is available for everyone to download on the internet. DâM-Funk

and bear with me as I talk to you, everything I do I really care about. So just bear with me when I talk to you, if you have a dream, do not give up. Don't ever let your mom or your dad or some friends, as somebody who does not care about you, or you think they care about you, but you think they’re steering you in the wrong direction, if you feel in your heart that this is the music that you want to do, this is your life's calling, do not give up. Somebody is going to try and stop you, somebody's going to try and say: “Don't you think you ought to try plan B?” Don't do plan B, stick with the first thing in your heart. If it's the music, then stick with it.

ImperialViolet - Public key pinning

Why public key hashes, not certificate hashes? In general, hashing certificates is the obvious solution, but the wrong one. The problem is that CA certificates are often reissued: there are multiple certificates with the same public key, subject name etc but different extensions or expiry dates. Browsers build certificates chains from a pool of certificates, bottom up, and an alternative version of a certificate might be substituted for the one that you expect.
